Over the past thirty-five years, Salisbury Motor Car has built a solid reputation as one of the leading Audi and Volkswagen specialist shops in the Northeast. In addition to great cars and service, SMC offers its customers a level of automotive expertise and experience that sets it apart from other dealerships. In addition to running the business with his wife, Brenda, Art Mayhew has been active for many years in club and track events. He's a founding member of the Northeast Quattro Club, and served as its vice president for three years. Art ice-raced for several seasons in the early '90s, campaigning a VW Golf. He has been a track instructor for the NE Quattro Club, Trackmasters and Porsche Club of America. He has provided tech support for NE Quattro club track events at Watkins Glen and Lime Rock Park, gaining important experience with Audis, VWs and Porsches under track extremes. Art also is very active in community affairs, He serves on the Dolgeville Central School board of education, currently as president, and is a member of the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department, and serves on their board also. In 2003, Salisbury Motor Car became the only upstate New York authorized dealer for Audi Parts and Racing products. Alabama-based APR specializes in ECU and turbocharger upgrades and other performance-enhancing products for Audis and VWs. In 2004, a new state-of-the-art tech service area was added to the dealership, greatly increasing the ability to accommodate more vehicles and schedule customers sooner. Salisbury Motor Car continues to grow, with addition of a new showroom planned for the future. |
